In 1987, the Old Mill Boarding Kennel was purchased by two individuals. It boarded approximately forty dogs. Over the years it has grown and become one of the best facilities, if not the best, in the area. Old Mill constantly rates very high in Washingtonian Magazine. In August of 1998, the ground was broken for the addition of the hospital and the Cat Loft, fulfilling a dream that came about as the boarding business flourished.

In June 1999, the hospital opened with one full-time veterinarian, two licensed technicians, one receptionist, and one veterinary assistant. We have grown to have three full-time and 2 part-time vets and four licensed technicians as of September  2007. The boarding kennel and the hospital are two separate businesses, but our goal is to maintain a facility capable of providing services to each pet owner. The best care medically, surgically, boarding, and grooming all in one complex.
